Advanced Pricing Configuration

The following document will guide you through the process of fine-tuning your pricing to make sure you are ready to go live. This will drastically reduce the time you spend to manually quote projects today.

Strategy

You can utilize the pricing setting variable “Quote Required” to build a safety net around jobs that you believe are safe for automated prices and those that are not. All of those jobs will be handled accordingly in the system and pull pricing experts in to fill in any risky areas of pricing in order to get an offer out to your customer while fully automating the easy ones (low volume, low complexity).

You need to know what your targets are today, so you can fine-tune the pricing dials. Use the template below to gather 20 sample projects of those you have priced thoroughly in recent history and WON.

Keep in mind that the pricing will never be exactly the same and that’s ok - there will be considerable savings by automating your pricing and quoting process.

Consider using the online pricing as a ‘loss leader’ to win new customers and new projects. You can set your auto-pricing limits to ensure you not taking unreasonable risks. You can also use this tool to promote a ‘limited-time offer’ so that existing customers who use it are not surprised by different pricing.

Steps

  1. Fill in the template below with good pricing samples (new, won, properly priced).

  2. Load the projects on your Pricing Configuration page within the test tool.

  3. Review each pricing configuration accordingly and adjust where necessary in order to get close values to your test projects.

  4. Load the projects as a ‘Test Customer’ user to test in the system.

  5. Refine and iterate where necessary.
